Very Surprised

I was worried about buying this monopod and quick release head because of the cheap price and because it was a name brand that I had never heard of before, but I was very surprised.
The build quality of the monopod itself is okay...I would give it a 3 out of 5. It is tall enough for even a very tall photographer, but when you extend it past the 2nd or 3rd tier it gets kind of wobbly.
The ball joint quick release is what makes this such a good deal. It is very solid and heavy; it's completely constructed out of metal. It also has the quick release function, which is great because you can obviously release it quickly from the monopod. Another great feature of it is that you can change from portrait to landscape very easily. All you have to do to change the angle is loosen the screw that keeps the ball in place. I would give the quick release ball joint a 5 out of 5.
Overall, I was very happy with my purchase. It makes taking action photography at sporting events so much easier, and if I ever want to upgrade to a more sturdy monopod, I can do that and keep the awesome quick release ball joint. |
